Prior to sending loads to the facility, the waste generator or waste generator representative is to complete SECURE Non-oilfield Waste Approval Application (WAA). Once approved, we will supply a SECURE Waste Approval Confirmation number (WAC#) which will need to be included on all shipping documents specific to the approved non-oilfield waste. Generator and Transporter – Expectations and Requirements
In coordination with the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER), SECURE Energy is implementing new waste acceptance requirements at all AER Regulated waste management facilities in Alberta. Effective April 4, 2022, the following information MUST be included on all waste shipping documents to be offloaded at SECURE waste management facilities:
- DOW/Non-DOW classification – See AER Directive 058 – Section 2
- AER Waste Code – See AER Directive 058 – Appendix 2
- All DOW classified wastes MUST be accompanied by an AER Waste Manifest

This information MUST be provided by the waste generator to the transporter prior to arrival at SECURE’s waste management facilities.

SECURE strictly enforces landfill acceptance criteria with the following guidelines:
- Class I landfill acceptance criteria
- Class II landfill - non-hazardous industrial waste
Prior to sending loads to the landfill, the waste generator or waste generator representative is to complete a SECURE Application Form (SAF). Once approved, we will supply a SECURE Customer Agreement Code (SCA) pertaining to the appropriate waste stream(s). Use the link below to access and download our SAF below:
